Consists of 8 cadet teams and promotes esprit de corps, teamwork, and self-confidence.  It provides JROTC cadets a competitive program in five mentally and physically challenging training events.Raider Team practice is everyday from 2:10 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. Cadets on the Raider Team may wear the Raider cord and Raider ACU Tab. They are awarded the Raider Team ribbon after one year.

Training

Training of the Raider Team[s] is done by the Raider Leader. Training includes Pushup Improvement,  Situp Improvement,  Running Improvement, Pullup Improvement, and knot tying.

The training helps cadets who are on the team to actively participate and improve their physical fitness test scores.  The team also competes annually at a competition where skills are put to the test and graded by instructors.

One Rope Bridge

The One Rope Bridge is an event in the Raider Competition in which two cadets securely tie a single rope across a river.  Once the rope has been proven safe, cadets will use their skills and equipment to clip onto the One Rope Bridge and climb across.

Competition

The competition includes the Modified Army Physical Fitness test (2 minutes of push-ups, 2 minutes of sit-up’s and a 1 mile run), construction of a one rope bridge, 5-kilometer road march, a litter carry, and one optional event. The optional events are shuttle run, logistics relay, vehicle pull, and knot tying relay.

The competition is serious, but also fun for cadets who participate.  The competition allows teams to be graded on what they need to improve on for next year, and if they are good enough to qualify, they can move up into another division for another competition.
